Dave plays drums in the band he is in and really wanted a facebook page and website that would help promote himself more widely over the web. We thought that photos around Birmingham, especially around the Digbeth area, would give him a unique set of pictures and set him apart from everyone else on the web. We started off doing some studio shots of him playing and used a few flashguns set up with coloured gels and one with a grid on as a keylight. We also used a video light and smoke in a can to give some more atmospheric photos.
We then moved onto Digbeth, it was a lovely warm day and most photographers hate working in direct sunlight, but we find that when you know where to find good quality of light the pictures can look stunning.
